Single Sign On
What is Single Sign On?
Single Sign On (SSO) is an initiative across GE that will result in one common security mechanism for all applications. Users will have one single user ID and password with which they can access all of their apps. Web based applications are the first wave.
With SSO, since applications will share a security mechanism, this means that moving from one secure application to another will not require the user to re-enter their user ID and password throughout the day. However, many applications may re-prompt you for the password as an extra security measure. Additionally your session may timeout re-prompting you for your Password.
